IVFD Meeting Minutes 2/10/16

  1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 1707 pm by Bruce Fernald.
  2. Review Minutes from January 13, 2016:
  3. James Amuso moves to approve the meeting minutes from January 13, 2016 as written. Melissa Amuso seconds the motion. Vote; Yes, unanimous. Motion Passes.

  4. Financial Report:
  5. Checking Account balance as of 2/09/16: $15,473.11
    Katelyn Damon moves to approve the treasurer’s report as written. Ted Spurling
    seconds the motion. Vote: Yes, Unanimous. Motion Passes.

  6. Old Business
  7. 1. Air Compressor Purchase
    The group decides to remove this from the monthly agenda.
    2. Chain Purchase:
    Only one set of chains was delivered to the department.
    Katelyn will call Silver’s and follow up on the second set.
    3. Driver Training:
    Any EVOC certified members need to complete this training!
    4. Cistern Update:
    Cistern has been plumbed.
    5. Hose Testing-
    The group decides to remove this from the agenda.
    6. Turnout Gear Purchase
    The gear has been ordered!

  9. 1. Spare Tire Purchase:
    Katelyn called Maine Commercial Tire to get pricing on large tires for the trucks.
    A tire can be purchased from Maine Commercial Tire for about $400.00.
    A drive rim (rear rim) can be purchased for $196. A separate rim would need to be purchased for the front (steer rim).
    Jacks were also discussed. Varying sizes are available for prices ranging $50-$200. A bottle jack is probably the most likely type of jack to be purchased to do the job. A 50 ton bottle jack can be purchased for $99 online.
    No decision was made at this meeting.
    2. Line Painting
    Jim Amuso to work on this project.
    3. 12’ Ladder Purchase
    Katelyn Damon does not think that a 12’ step ladder is necessary for the IVFD at this time.

  10. Other Business:
  11. 1. Storz
    Katelyn suggests that it may be worthwhile to purchase a National Hose to Storze 6” connection to be kept on the pumper.
    2. Hep B Shots:
    Discussion on working with the Seacoast Mission to provide Hepatitis B Shots for responders. Katelyn will look into this more.
    3. Cistern Training
    Discussion on training on the Cistern before the March 16, training. Katelyn suggests Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 330pm for training on Islesford.
