Comprehensive Plan Public Review Workshop
Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Community Center, GCI: 2:30-4:00 pm
Neighborhood House, LCI: 4:45-6:15 pm

AGENDA: (Same agenda for both meetings)
1. Introduction: Overview of plan process to date and timeline/steps ahead
2. Review of Future Land Use Plan draft
a. Overview of maps, future land use goals, options and draft document
b. Discussion: public response and questions
The Future Land Use Plan draft proposes two zones for the inland area (land not in shoreland zones): village (growth) and rural. Based on community goals as well as public safety and environmental considerations, the draft proposes new standards for lot size, frontage, setbacks, impervious surface area, and building height in these inland zones.
3. Discussion re: Capital Investment Plan draft
4. Additional questions and comments
After these meetings, the committee will make final revisions to the complete draft document and recommend submission to the state for review. After the state review and possible changes to meet state criteria for comprehensive plans, there will be a public hearing and then a town meeting vote on the final plan.

All draft documents may be viewed online at (go to town documents link) and (maps are also posted here). Printed copies are available for review at the town office and the two town libraries (GCI and LCI). Other copies are available for circulation through the libraries. Additional copies are available upon request at the town office.

Copies of the Future Land Use Plan draft are available at the town office.
