Great Cranberry Island Resident Stafford Keegin inquires if the owners of the Williamson property on GCI had to receive permission from the Planning Board for fill brought on to their property for the shoreland stabilization project. The TCI Planning Board approved a dock and bank stabilization with outbuilding on July 25, 2006. The stabilization received a permit by rule notification for 305 cubic yards of rock rip rap. The project also received a permit from the Army Corp of Engineers to place approximately 1,840 square feet of fill below the high tide line in Western Bay at GCI in conjunction with the placement of approximately 230 linear feet of rip rap. Of particular concern to the Williamson’s neighbors is the obstruction of a pathway historically used by islanders. The Planning Board Chairman is asked to have Code Enforcement Officer to do a follow up site visit to the Williamson property to ensure compliance with permits and approval.
