II. New Business
A. Cranberry Isles Commuter Boat
The Board of Selectmen has invited Steve Pagels to this special meeting to discuss issues and complaints regarding the commuter ferry service. Topics discussed included boat cancellations, experience of captains, safety and reliability. Mr. Pagels apologized for the first cancellation of the commuter ferry on October 18, due to fog. The other cancellations were cancelled by Mr. Pagels himself due to wind advisories. Being the owner/operator of the business, Mr. Pagels stands by his decisions of when to cancel or not for safety and liability reasons. Going forward, the Town will be informed in advance of any cancellations. It will also be posted on the Cranberry Isles Information page on Facebook. The Administrative Assistant will be emailed and texted of all cancellations, as well.
The BOS wishes to convey to all passengers that the commuter ferry service is open to all travelers to and from the Cranberry Isles. The Administrative Assistant is requested by the BOS to promote the service, letting people know the service is available.
