  1. Meeting called to order by David Thomas at 5:02 pm.
  2. Review Minutes from November 13, 2013. Bruce Fernald moves to accept the meeting minutes from November 13, 2013. David Thomas seconds the motion. Vote; Yes, Unanimous. Motion Passes.
  3. Financial Report:
  4. 1. Checking Account Balance as of November 2013: $20,946.16
    2. Expenses:
    1. $46.71- Database Systems Corporations- November
    2. $92.20- Jason Pickering- Pumps Course reimbursement
    3. Income:
    1. $0
    2. Account Balance as of December 2013 $20,807.25
    3. Town Reserve: $18,455
    4. Approximately $6,100 of unspent town monies left for 2013.
    5. David Thomas moves to accept the financial report as written. Nick Hadlock seconds the motion. Vote; Yes, Unanimous. Motion Passes.

  6. Cistern
    1. Katelyn Presents the department with specifications and quotes for a cistern from American Concrete Industries out of Auburn, Maine.
    2. Katelyn was given quotes of $12,715 for a 10,000 gallon tank. $19,194 for a 15,000 gallon tank, $26,130 for a 20,000 gallon tank and $38,688 for a 30,000 gallon tank. Manhole risers are $445 each and it was suggested that two be installed for a 10,000 gallon tank. A dry hydrant hook-up to the tank would cost $3,860.
    3. These prices do not include barging or the extra time that their trucks would be waiting on island during delivery. It also does not include sales tax.
    4. Katelyn is asked to look into specifications for the ground work that would need to be done. Does the company have a "blueprint" for how they want the sight to be set up?
    5. It is suggested to get estimates from Ben Moore and Goodwins for the cost of the sight work. Including leaving room for the possible addition of a second system.
    6. David Thomas makes a motion to pursue the installation of a 10,000 gallon tank from all avenues. Katelyn Damon seconds the motion. Vote: Yes, Unanimous. Motion Passes.

    1. Richard Howland moves to sell the 1977 Ford C900 known as Engine-1 by sealed bid. Bruce Fernald seconds the motion. Vote: Yes, Unanimous. Motion Passes.

    1. Wednesday, December 18, 2013: Ladder Training & New truck familiarization.

  11. Other Business:
  12. 1. Katelyn asks that people stop into the town office when they have a chance and give Denise their driver's license numbers as well as allow her to take a photocopy of your Driver's license for insurance purposes.
    2. Katelyn tells the department that the town as ok'd getting internet for the station. Katelyn has contacted RedZone and they have a repeater that is not being used on a house on Islesford. They offered to waive the installation fee if one of our department members wants to do the installation on the fire house.
    3. Katelyn will find out exactly what house the equipment is installed on and get back to the department.
    4. Katelyn asks Ted Spurling if he ever found any old copies of by-laws for the department. Ted states that he still needs to look. (Update: Ted emailed later that evening after the fire meeting and he could not locate any by-laws.)
    5. Richard tells the department about a tow behind portable pump that the park gave the department. It is a Darley Pump with it's own trailer. The pump is in NEH waiting to be barged over at some point.

  14. 1. Katelyn will look into specifications for groundwork and will work on getting estimates for groundwork. A subcommittee may also be formed late winter as things get moving forward with this project more.
