  8. New Business:
  9. a. Water Rescue Training
Katelyn has spoken with Joseph Mokry of Ocean Rescue Systems International. He has suggested the weekend of September 13 & 14 to conduct the water rescue training on island. A number of things will need to be completed in order to make this training work. Boats would need to be uses as well as having enough volunteers and potentially patients to conduct the training.
This training would be quite involved and stretched out over two days. The first day would be geared toward shore line rescue and the second day would be geared toward open water rescue. Joe Mokry has stated that there would be a 20 person limit on class size.
    b. Chair/ Table Purchase with IVFD.
    c. Toughbook for GCI?
Some discussion is had about potentially purchasing a Toughbook for GCI, as there are two responders there and the service has an ample reserve to be used to upgrade equipment.
Karin Whitney called in via phone; and stated that she had no objections, but worried about how she would use the computer if she was the sole responder. Katelyn explains that it would be a judgement call for the responder and if they did not feel comfortable using it alone than you don’t have to. The computer would in turn make it easier for each responder to do their online report in a timely manner after the call as the service has 24 hours from the time of the call to submit the completed report.
Karin says that she feels comfortable going with whatever Kelly would like.
